1. What is AquaLinked Community?
AquaLinked Community is a professional discussion space for approved African and diaspora experts. It is created to help experts share knowledge, exchange professional ideas, build friendship connections, and communicate in a respectful environment.
2. How to register or enter the community
- Use the email address you registered with on the Water for Africa Experts platform.
- Enter your registered email on the community login or setup page.
- Check your email for the secure setup or login link.
- Create your password if the system asks you to do so.
- After login, you can use the community board, friendship features, and private messaging.
If your email is not accepted, it may mean that your expert profile has not yet been approved or that you are using a different email address.
3. How to write a public text post
- Log in to your community account.
- Go to the community board or dashboard.
- Write a short professional message in the text box.
- Click the post or submit button.
Good posts may include professional thoughts, field experience, project lessons, training ideas, research reflections, water and engineering knowledge, and useful resources.
4. Image upload is not available yet
At this stage, public posting is text-only. Image upload is not allowed yet.
Image upload may be added in the future after proper safety, moderation, and storage controls are prepared.
5. How to send a friendship request
- Open the public profile or member page of the expert you want to connect with.
- Click the friendship or connect button.
- After sending the request, the status may show as pending.
- When the other expert accepts, you will become connected as friends.
6. Private messaging
Private messaging becomes available only after friendship is accepted. This protects members and keeps communication more trusted.
After friendship is accepted, members may exchange more detailed professional information privately.
7. What is not allowed in public posts and comments
To protect members and reduce spam, public posts and comments must not include:
- phone numbers,
- email addresses,
- WhatsApp numbers,
- Telegram links,
- Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Instagram, or other social contact links,
- direct personal contact details,
- spam, insults, offensive language, or illegal content.
Contact exchange should happen only in private messaging after friendship is accepted.
8. Professional conduct
Please use AquaLinked Community with respect, kindness, and professionalism. The goal is to build trust, support African expertise, exchange knowledge, and create useful professional connections.
9. Notifications
The community may send platform notifications or email notifications when there are important updates, accepted friendship requests, private messages, or activity related to your posts.
