Eur Ing Mesfin Hagos Tewolde

Mesfin Hagos Tewolde is a hydrologist, civil and irrigation engineer, researcher, and author with more than 30 years of practical, professional, and research experience. His work covers hydrology, water-resources engineering, dam construction, building construction, irrigation infrastructure development, flood and rainfall–runoff modelling, GIS, remote sensing, and the application of specialised software such as SWAT/SWAT+, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, ArcGIS, and QGIS.

He holds an MSc in Hydrological Engineering from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, a BSc in Civil and Irrigation Engineering from Arba Minch Water Technology Institute, and postgraduate advanced qualifications in Urban Planning from EPFL and the University of Geneva. He is also undertaking doctoral research. During his work in the Civil Engineering Department at the Central University of Technology in South Africa, he contributed to the research and development of SAPWAT3, an irrigation-planning and water-requirement software system. His professional experience spans Ethiopia, Eritrea, South Africa, and Switzerland. He has contributed to peer-reviewed research and technical publications and is the author of several scientific and literary books.
