Major Projects and Contributions

  • HyPIS – HydroPredict Irrigation System
Developed a machine-learning-based irrigation decision-support system designed to predict irrigation water requirements using environmental and weather data. The project demonstrates the application of engineering, data analysis and emerging technology to improve irrigation planning and agricultural water efficiency.
  • Hilton Africa Water Quality Testing Fellowship
Successfully completed the Hilton Africa Water Quality Testing Fellowship implemented by Makerere University in partnership with the Aquaya Institute and funded by the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation. The fellowship covered drinking-water quality, health impacts, contaminants, safe sampling, analytical testing methods, data analysis, water treatment and water-safety planning.
  • Community Water-Point Quality Assessments in Uganda
Participated in field water-quality assessments covering more than 700 community water points in Mukono District, Uganda. Responsibilities included community water-point surveys, drinking-water sampling, field and laboratory testing, environmental data collection, record keeping, data management and reporting.
  • Water and Sanitation Infrastructure Support – Ministry of Water and Environment
Supported the Ministry of Water and Environment South Western Branch through site inspections, monitoring of water and sanitation infrastructure, preparation of technical field reports, progress documentation and collaboration with engineering teams during project implementation.
  • USMID Road Rehabilitation and Drainage Works – Mbarara
Contributed to road rehabilitation works undertaken by Multiplex Ditaco Joint Venture under the Uganda Support to Municipal Infrastructure Development programme. Assisted with site inspections, progress monitoring, quality control, drainage and earthworks supervision, field records, laboratory activities and surveying using GPS, RTK and Total Station equipment.
  • Civil Engineering, Plumbing and Construction Supervision
Supported Block Technical Services Ltd in civil works, plumbing systems, maintenance, construction-site coordination, interpretation of engineering drawings, structural layouts, safety compliance, technical supervision and progress reporting on large-scale facilities.
  • GIS, Remote Sensing and Engineering Surveying Development
Completed professional training and practical assignments in GIS, remote sensing, spatial analysis and engineering surveying. Applied geospatial and surveying tools to field-data collection, infrastructure setting-out, drainage works, environmental monitoring and water-resources planning.
  • Irrigation, Water Resources and Small-Dam Engineering Studies
Completed advanced engineering studies and practical work in irrigation system design and management, irrigation project planning, land evaluation for irrigation, water resources management, hydrology, hydrometrics, water quality and treatment, sedimentation and river morphology, drainage, water and irrigation structures, and the design of detention reservoirs and small dams.
