Responsibilities include reviewing designs, bills of quantities, contract documents, method statements, quality-assurance plans, environmental and social management requirements, work programmes, shop drawings, materials, pipework, fittings and interim payment assessments. -
Shire Valley Irrigation Scheme – Construction Supervision and Quality Assurance
Held senior Site Engineer and Chief Inspector responsibilities for construction supervision and quality assurance of the 43,400-hectare Shire Valley Irrigation Scheme. The assignment involved two major construction contracts valued at approximately USD 31.679 million and USD 78.421 million, including contract administration, programme review, construction coordination, quality control, claims, variations, payment certification, dam-foundation supervision, pipelines and irrigation infrastructure. -
Malawi Drought Recovery and Resilience Project – Irrigation Rehabilitation
Worked as Site Engineer on the World Bank-funded rehabilitation and reconstruction of six flood-damaged irrigation schemes with a combined area of approximately 859 hectares. Works included diversion weirs, open canals, pipelines, distribution systems, scheme roads, flood-protection dykes, river training and drainage infrastructure, with responsibility for design review, construction supervision, quality control, payment certification, claims assessment and operation-and-maintenance support. -
Shire River Basin Management Program Phase I
Served as Land and Water Management Specialist, Irrigation Engineer and Civil Engineer with Mott MacDonald on the World Bank-funded Shire River Basin Management Program. Led sub-catchment assessment, feasibility studies, infrastructure planning, design, procurement and supervision across 12 construction contracts covering irrigation schemes, bridges, feeder roads, micro-dams, weirs, hydraulic structures, drainage works, markets and sanitation facilities. -
Climate-Resilient Water Resources Development in Southern Malawi
Served as Water Project Officer with Trócaire Malawi on sustainable water-resources management and climate-resilience initiatives. Managed and supervised solar-powered irrigation schemes, reservoirs, water-harvesting structures and the Kadansana earth-fill dam, while supporting community planning, operation and maintenance, land and water management, soil and water conservation and climate-resilient agricultural development. -
Post-Cyclone Idai WASH Infrastructure Assessment
Worked as WASH Engineer on a WaterAid-supported technical assessment of water and sanitation infrastructure in post-disaster areas of Zomba District. Assessed water sources, sanitation facilities, accessibility, functionality and structural damage, and developed prioritised and costed infrastructure recovery recommendations for immediate, medium-term and long-term response. -
Catchment and Water Resources Mapping – Climate Challenge Program Malawi
Worked as Irrigation and Water Engineer on catchment and water-resources mapping for Trócaire Malawi. The assignment included mapping domestic and surface-water sources, identifying irrigation potential, assessing groundwater and surface-water conditions, estimating catchment water budgets and recommending irrigation, afforestation, soil fertility and soil-and-water conservation interventions. -
Smallholder Crop Production and Marketing Project
Served as District Project Officer for the African Development Bank-funded Smallholder Crop Production and Marketing Project. Led feasibility studies, water-resources assessment, irrigation planning, contract management and construction supervision of the 85-hectare Phandiro Irrigation Scheme and the 90-hectare Zumulu B Irrigation Scheme, together with communal storage and supporting agricultural infrastructure.
