Professional Summary
Ethiopian hydrogeologist and geohydrologist with more than 24 years of experience in groundwater science, hydrogeochemistry, aquifer characterization, groundwater recharge, groundwater modelling, borehole development, engineering geology, WASH water-supply projects, and sustainable water resources management. He is currently a postdoctoral researcher at Kanazawa University in Japan and serves as an Associate Professor at Bahir Dar University in Ethiopia. His work has strongly contributed to the understanding of groundwater systems in the Lake Tana Basin, Upper Blue Nile Basin, Ethiopian volcanic highlands, and East African Rift System. He has led and participated in major international research projects, supervised MSc and PhD students, supported groundwater investigation and drilling projects, published extensively in international journals, and contributed to capacity building, stakeholder engagement, and sustainable groundwater development in Africa.
