Drip Tape Coupling — Straight Connector for Flat Drip Tape Lines

Category: Drip Irrigation Components

Price on request

A drip tape coupling connector is used to join two sections of flat drip tape in a straight line. It helps repair damaged drip tape, extend irrigation lines, and maintain continuous water flow. It provides a simple, leak-resistant connection and should be used only with matching flat drip tape sizes, not thick round HDPE mainline pipe.

Product Description

A drip tape coupling connector is used to join two sections of flat drip tape in a straight line. It is an important fitting in drip irrigation systems because it allows farmers and installers to extend drip tape lines, repair damaged sections, or reconnect two separated pieces of drip tape without replacing the whole line.

This connector is designed for flat drip tape, not for thick round HDPE mainline pipe. Drip tape is thin, flexible, and often becomes flat when there is no water inside. The coupling grips the drip tape ends and creates a tight, leak-resistant connection so that water can continue flowing through the joined line.

In field irrigation, drip tape may need to be extended, repaired, or reconnected after cutting, damage, or layout adjustment. A drip tape coupling connector provides a simple and practical solution. Each end of the drip tape is inserted into the connector, then the locking rings or compression nuts are tightened by hand to hold the tape securely.

Technical Material Information

Manufacturer / Producer
Produced by drip irrigation fitting and pipe-accessory manufacturers. Common producers include irrigation companies such as Netafim and other drip irrigation suppliers. The exact producer depends on drip tape size, connection type, material, and manufacturer specification.
Manufacturer Note
Best Used With:
Flat drip tape, drip tape valve connector, drip tape end cap, filter, pressure regulator, mainline/sub-main pipe, take-off connector, and drip irrigation fittings.

Practical Installation Steps:

Cut both drip tape ends square and clean.
Open or loosen the connector locking rings.
Insert the first drip tape end fully into one side.
Insert the second drip tape end fully into the other side.
Tighten both sides by hand.
Start the system and check for leakage.

Important Note:
This connector is for flat drip tape. Do not use it for thick round HDPE mainline pipe. For round PE lateral or HDPE pipe, use the correct PE pipe coupling or HDPE fitting. Matching the connector type to the pipe or tape is essential for a safe, leak-free irrigation system.

Maintenance:
Check regularly for leakage, loose fittings, cracks, or tape slippage. Re-tighten by hand if needed. Replace the connector if it becomes damaged or worn.
Material
High-quality plastic, polypropylene, polyethylene, or UV-stabilized engineering plastic. Some models may include sealing rings or compression parts depending on the manufacturer.
Pipe / Tape Diameter
Common sizes include 16 mm and 20 mm for flat drip tape. Other sizes may be available depending on the supplier. The connector size must match the drip tape size.
Connection Type
Compression type, lock-ring type, or push-fit type depending on the model. The connection is usually tightened by hand.
Working Pressure
Suitable for low-pressure drip irrigation systems. Typical use is around 0.5–3 bar, depending on the drip tape and connector model. Always follow the manufacturer’s pressure rating.
Application
Main Use:
Used to join, repair, or extend two flat drip tape sections in a straight line.

Key Benefits:

Joins two drip tape sections securely
Helps repair damaged drip tape lines
Extends drip tape length when needed
Provides a leak-resistant connection
Maintains steady water flow
Easy to install by hand
Saves time and avoids replacing a full drip tape line
Useful for vegetable fields, greenhouses, nurseries, and row crops

How It Works:
One end of the drip tape is inserted into one side of the coupling connector. The second drip tape end is inserted into the other side. When both sides are properly inserted and tightened, the connector holds the tape firmly and allows water to pass through the joined line.

Where It Is Used:
Used in drip irrigation systems, vegetable fields, greenhouses, nurseries, gardens, landscaping, and row-crop irrigation where flat drip tape is used.
