Product Description

Full Description:

A ball valve is a durable and reliable quarter-turn shut-off valve used in irrigation and water distribution systems to control the flow of water. It operates using a rotating spherical ball inside the valve body, which has a central hole. When the valve handle is turned 90 degrees, the ball rotates to either align the hole with the pipeline (open position) or block the flow completely (closed position).

Ball valves are widely used in drip irrigation systems, sprinkler systems, pump outlets, filtration units, and fertigation networks. They are essential components in irrigation control systems because they provide fast and secure ON/OFF control with minimal pressure loss when fully open. This makes them ideal for systems that require reliable flow isolation and simple operation.

The valve is typically installed inline between pipes and can be made from PVC, HDPE, brass, or other engineering plastics depending on the application and pressure requirements. Most irrigation ball valves use threaded, compression, or union-type connections, allowing easy installation, maintenance, and replacement without cutting the entire pipeline.

Ball valves are not designed for fine flow regulation but are excellent for full flow or complete shut-off operations. Their simple design makes them highly resistant to wear, corrosion (in plastic versions), and field conditions such as exposure to sunlight, fertilizers, and irrigation chemicals.

Before installation, users should confirm the final supplier specifications, including size, pressure rating, material type, sealing system, and compatibility with the irrigation pipeline system.
